The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse that helps with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations in the NICU.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts patient assessments through interviews, health histories, physical exams, and diagnostic studies.

  • Identifies abnormal findings and collaborates with healthcare teams to develop treatment plans.

  • Implements patient management and therapeutic plans based on assessments, lab results, and established protocols.

  • Performs detailed history and physical exams, triages patients, and participates in multidisciplinary rounds.

  • Documents patient care accurately and timely, including reports, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

  • Provides compassionate, age-appropriate care while supporting patients and families.

  • Collaborates with healthcare professionals and shares clinical expertise to ensure quality and continuity of care.

  • Maintains compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and patient rights while supporting quality improvement.
