Job Purpose

The NIGP Code Program Manager position is responsible for management, support, and sales of the NIGP Code Program.

Job Announcement:

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual who recognizes the value the NIGP Code brings to government agencies and is committed to furthering its adoption, use, and success in state and local governments. The successful candidate should have experience in state and local government, should demonstrate active engagement regionally or nationally in public procurement organizations and ideally who has experience with taxonomy and spend management analytics in procurement.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pursues sales opportunities thru monitoring sourcing websites and regular outreach to potential public and private sector clients
  • Designs and develops various documents, templates, reports, manuals, training and marketing materials
  • Delivers training on NIGP Code, crosswalks and best practices in spend reporting and category management
  • Monitors other commodity code crosswalk providers to identify and manage update opportunities
  • Schedules meetings, prepares and facilitates various communications
  • Tracks projects, invoicing/billing for all Code engagements
  • Responds to NIGP Code sales inquiries (emails and phone calls)Communicates regularly with clients and potential clients Prepares quotes for NIGP Code potential clients
  • Communicates and manages both internal and external project requirements, deliverables, billings, and payments
  • Provides follow up with all clients on NIGP Code cancellations, including explanations of Periscope/Code copyright implications, and license requirements
  • Assists Finance and other internal teams on sales activity including pricing, cancellations, billings
  • Assists internal Support team on client account information including updating of internal sales management system,
  • Assists with potential client engagement and closing on new business opportunities
  • Markets NIGP Code through social media engagement and coordination with internal Marketing team and NIGP marketing team;
  • Develop original content for blogs, case studies, articles for publication
  • Leverages strong technical skills to develop and manage spreadsheets, database and manual data transformation(ETL)
  • Registers NIGP Code service as a supplier in public sector entity supplier registration systems
  • Collaborates and coordinates with other NIGP Code & Consulting team members
  • May attend tradeshows and conferences to present information on NIGP Code (as determined by President of NIGP Code & Consulting)
  • Manages other duties as assigned by President of NIGP Code & Consulting
