Position Title: Night Shift Manufacturing Area Manager

The Night Shift Manufacturing Area Manager is responsible for leading and managing manufacturing operations during the assigned night shift. This role ensures production goals are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, employee engagement, and operational efficiency. As the primary operations leader on shift, the Area Manager partners with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, solve operational challenges, and foster a culture of accountability and performance.
This position is scheduled to work
Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM, with flexibility required to support other shifts, weekends, or business needs as necessary.
What you'll be doing. - Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors, team leads, and hourly employees to build a high-performing team.
- Foster a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Manage shift operations to ensure production schedules and customer requirements are achieved.
- Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, efficiency, labor utilization, downtime, scrap, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, company policies, and safety standards.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions to support a zero-incident mindset.
- Partner with Quality teams to maintain product standards, investigate non-conformances, and drive root cause analysis.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and operational excellence initiatives to improve throughput, efficiency, and cost performance.
- Coordinate closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Human Resources teams to support operational success.
- Provide effective shift communications, including detailed handoff reporting and escalation of key operational issues to plant leadership.
What you'll need to be successful. - Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, safety regulations, quality systems, and production processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing reporting systems.
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions during overnight and off-shift hours.
- Understanding of production planning, maintenance coordination, and workforce management practices.
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt, or similar continuous improvement certification.
- Experience with ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Knowledge of employee relations and workforce management practices.
Compensation Package : $81,600.00 - $108,900.00 . USD annually + Bonus eligibility
