Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for Trainers for our Mine Automation Group. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of initiative and ability to operate in a fluid-structured environment. The Trainer, Autonomous Operations will be expected to develop multiple personal and professional relationships with a variety of internal and external groups and departments. Primarily responsible for the practical training and assessment required for personnel to work safely and effectively in the autonomous mine and are in place to conduct demonstrations and to allow trainees to practice skills under their supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Follow the implementation of a Competency Based Training program that ensures information is delivered in a manner that employees will retain.
  • Providing effective feedback and suggestions by reviewing employee training status with trainee and trainee's supervisor.
  • Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to maintain legal obligations, meet competency-based training expectations, and optimize efficiencies.
  • Audit and review training courses, materials, and programs for continuous improvement.
  • Using the appropriate training tools, processes from provided Training Manuals.
  • Ensure trainees have fulfilled all prerequisite training requirements and do not operate or perform tasks for which the training has not been provided or is not documented accordingly.
  • Ensure trainees are always under direct supervision during training.
  • Maintaining accurate records of trainee development by using the assigned methods.
  • Work to accomplish job tasks with minimal supervision while receiving a moderate level of guidance and direction. Strive for continuous improvement, alignment, and management of organizational systems and programs.
  • Continuously seek out learning opportunities to develop and strengthen skill sets.
  • Act as a resource and mentor for site trainers and able to lead the training team in place of the supervisor for short periods.
  • Participate in alignment of site initiatives or operational excellence opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy required
  • Ability to drive results and ensure completion of time sensitive deadlines required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Previous experience with Autonomous Haulage Systems preferred
  • Experience in a training or mentoring role preferred
  • Proven experience in working with peer groups and focus teams required
  • Excellent leadership skills and knowledge of influencing others required
  • Ability to promote safety in training and lead by example required
  • Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required
  • Effective time management to organize and prioritize a heavy workload in a fast-paced, demanding environment required
  • Demonstrate and maintain good attendance and performance records required
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze and confidently present data in a manner to promote ideas and opportunities to lead improvement preferred
  • The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
