Full Job Description
Location:

The New Product Development (NPD) Engineer is an onsite role in either Austin, TX, Chandler, AZ or Breinigsville, PA. Approximately 15-20% domestic and international travel is required to meet business needs.

Your Role:

As an experienced NPD Engineer, you will be the product-line expert with technical depth to design new products or advance existing technology. Partnering with Product Management to ideate, refine concepts, and develop/validate robust solutions. You'll fill gaps in specifications and scope to enable downstream product development and execution. This role sits at the intersection of market need rationalization and engineering execution, were decisions impact cost and reliability, throughout the product lifecycle. Thoughtful, data-driven decision making and the ability to influence cross-functional teams are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute fluid and thermal simulations to validate performance targets
  • Develop and implement comprehensive testing and validation plans
  • Create initial concept drawings and BOMs with appropriate component selections; design efficient P&ID layouts
  • Deliver project engineering artifacts within a stage-gate process (e.g., Engineering Requirements Specification, FMEA, etc.)
  • Assess IP landscape risks and opportunities; provide actionable recommendations
  • Ensure equipment design complies with applicable codes and standards (e.g., SEMI S2, SEMI S22, NFPA)
  • Support equipment deployment (BETA) which may include field oversight of installation and commissioning activities


Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering (or a related field)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing new products or leading product development initiatives
  • Demonstrated proficiency with thermal/fluids simulation tools and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)
  • Familiarity with stage-gate project management, risk assessment (e.g., FMEA), and requirement specifications
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards relevant to equipment design and safety


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering (or a related field)
  • Experience translating market needs into technical requirements and driving them through a formal development process
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Experience with manufacturing-scale product development and pilot/testing
  • Familiarity with IP landscape analysis and basic patent awareness
  • Experience with verification/validation planning beyond simulations
  • Exposure to SEMI standards or NFPA-related safety requirements in a manufacturing/engineering context
  • Project leadership or mentoring experience


Pay range for this position: $130,000 - $168,000

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
