Full Job Description
William Osler's partnership with the New Grad Guarantee will offer you the opportunity to work in a clinical unit as a part of the nursing team according to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario and William Osler Health System. You will be provided with an orientation that will provide you with the needed education and skills certification for the clinical area. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement nursing care plans for your patients and their families, report on patient progress and work collaboratively with the healthcare team. The knowledge and skills you have obtained and practiced during your clinical experiences as a student will be applied to your practice as a New Graduate Nurse to support the delivery of excellence in patient-focused care, at William Osler Health System.
In addition to the New Graduate Guarantee program, you will be supported through a sponsorship to obtain your Emergency certificate. This program combined, will be a duration of 23 weeks where you will complete 3 weeks of in class theory, 12 weeks with a preceptor, and 8 weeks of clinical/classroom time.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (NGG Program states candidates must be within 12 months of CNO Registration)
- Fluent in English (Reading, writing, speaking comprehension)
- Clinical rotation in the Emergency department
- Ability to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Additional courses or willingness to obtain within six (6) months of hired preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Ability to set priorities
- Motivated, positive and respecting of others
- Quality oriented, patient-focused caregiver
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written), problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills required
- Critical thinking and organizational skills required
- Must demonstrate Osler Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation, and Collaboration
- May be required to travel between and work at all hospital locations
Additional Information
Hours: Currently Days/Nights, 8 and 12 hour shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary:
Minimum: $41.15 per hour
