Job Responsibilities

The New Business Development Officer, Education & Partnerships serves as a key member of the Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing (GIDDN), responsible for directing the development, execution, and continuous improvement of Institute educational products and partner engagement efforts. This role operates at the intersection of education, CE accreditation, and external partnerships, ensuring that educational offerings are high-quality, aligned with ANCC standards, and responsive to workforce needs.

The New Business Development Officer serves as the designated Lead Nurse Planner for Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD), with responsibility for directing and managing activity-level compliance and operationalizing accreditation standards, in collaboration with the Accredited Provider Program Director (Associate Director). The role also plays a central role in advancing the Institute's national reach by cultivating relationships with health systems and supporting adoption of educational offerings.

Working in close collaboration with the Executive Director and Associate Director (APPD), the New Business Development Officer serves as a critical bridge between strategy and implementation. The position exercises independent judgment in managing cross-functional projects, engaging subject matter experts and partners, and advancing complex initiatives from concept through execution. Through this work, the New Business Development Officer helps ensure that Institute priorities are translated into high-quality programs, meaningful partnerships, and measurable impact.

Health System Partnerships and Growth
  • Lead the cultivation, development, and management of relationships with health systems.
  • Drive partner engagement efforts that expand adoption of Institute educational offerings and generate new organizational collaborations.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of prospective partners, guiding organizations from initial engagement through implementation and long-term partnership.

Accreditation & Continuing Professional Development
  • Serve as the Institute's Lead Nurse Planner for all continuing professional development activities.
  • Direct and manage all activity-level alignment of educational offerings with ANCC NCPD standards, including documentation, compliance processes, and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director (APPD) to ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation requirements.

Educational Content Development and Management
  • Direct later-stage development, refinement, and completion of educational products, ensuring that feedback from senior leadership, subject matter experts, and stakeholders is effectively incorporated into final deliverables.
  • Manage final scripting, module review, quality assurance, and preparation for launch or dissemination.
  • Ensure educational products align with professional nursing standards, Institute priorities, and instructional design best practices.

Academic and Experiential Learning
  • Collaborate with St. John Fisher University faculty and staff to co-design and implement experiential learning opportunities.
  • Support integration of Institute content into academic programs.

Curriculum Review, Refinement, and Implementation
  • Direct and participate in curriculum review cycles, pilot implementations, and refinement processes.
  • Collaborate with internal team members and external experts to implement continuous improvement strategies.

SME Coordination and Content Ecosystem
  • In collaboration with the Associate Director, direct engagement with project SMEs, ensuring alignment with Institute priorities, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Manage day-to-day coordination of contributors across multiple projects.

Summit and National Convening Support
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director and Executive Director on the design - and direct the execution - of content for national convenings, including calls for abstracts, poster sessions, ignite presentations, and roundtables.
  • Manage selection processes and content curation to ensure quality and alignment with strategic priorities.


Scholarship and Dissemination
  • Contribute to presentations, publications, and other scholarly outputs in collaboration with senior leadership.


Education / Experience

Required:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Master's degree in nursing (e.g., Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Education, or related nursing specialty).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in nursing, with minimum 3 years of experience in nursing education, professional development, curriculum design, or continuing professional development.
  • Experience with ANCC NCPD standards or continuing education accreditation processes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing educational programs or curricula in academic and/or health system settings.
  • Experience working with or on behalf of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
