JOB SUMMARY
Provides services to patients/clients who have mental impairments and adjustment difficulties (cognitive, behavioral, emotional) related to functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. Acts to enhance mental/emotional well being; provides prevention education; promotes health, wellness and psycho social reintegration; contributes to prevent/minimize disability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
DIAGNOSES AND TREATS DISORDERS
Conducts thorough reviews of medical records and other referring documentation
Obtains accessory information from family members, clinical staff and other relevant sources of information
Interviews and observes client, obtaining additional information regarding cognitive, behavioral and emotional functioning
Diagnoses psychological/neuropsychological conditions present or suspected
Develops and implements appropriate plan of care that may include direct psychological/neuropsychological treatment interventions, additional assessment, recommendations for care by other treatment team members or other professionals
Selects and directs or performs administration of neuropsychological and other assessment measures
Interprets results of assessment and produces timely, thorough assessment reports with appropriate recommendations to the client and referring party
Provides feedback on results of assessments to client and others as appropriate, as well as to referring party
Monitors progress and reviews and adapts treatment efforts in conjunction with client and relevant significant others
Coordinates efforts with other treating professionals and agencies
Participates in professional collaborations and/or interdisciplinary treatment teams to maximize client progress
Acts to assure availability of help for crisis management and resolution

Accurately documents activities of evaluation, assessment and treatment
