This position is contingent upon contract award and position availability. Selected candidates will receive a contingent offer of employment, which will become final only upon successful contract award to Maximus, availability of the position, and receipt of authorization to proceed.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust is required. An active Public Trust and/or DHS suitability is preferred. Must be a U.S. Citizen without dual citizenship. This role is hybrid, allowing for remote work, but requires the ability to work onsite at one of the following locations in Northern Virginia: Springfield, Herndon, or Ashburn.

Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Network Services Lead, responsible for end-to-end delivery of enterprise network services, including planning, coordination with service providers, reporting, and governance.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight across network operations, engineering, and maintenance activities for a large-scale enterprise environment consisting of thousands of network devices.
- Balance workload distribution across the network team, including incident response, break/fix activities, new installations, and special projects to ensure operational efficiency.
- Oversee operations and maintenance of LAN, WAN, wireless, and external connectivity environments supporting voice, video (VTC), and data across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures.
- Ensure adherence to configuration management standards and change control processes to minimize service disruptions and maintain environment integrity.
- Coordinate monitoring, performance management, and incident response activities to meet or exceed service level targets, including a 99.5% uptime requirement.
- Support resolution of high-severity incidents, including network-related S1/S2 events, ensuring rapid restoration of services and coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure network security integration and compliance with enterprise and federal requirements across routers, switches, firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancers, and wireless systems.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, including configurations, topology, and operational procedures to support governance and knowledge management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network reliability, scalability, and performance across nationwide infrastructure environments.
Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:

- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise network operations and service delivery across large-scale environments (thousands of network devices).
- Proven experience managing and supporting LAN/WAN, wireless networks, and external connectivity in complex environments.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Experience supporting network incident response, including troubleshooting and resolution of high-severity (S1/S2) incidents.
- Demonstrated experience with network monitoring and performance management tools.
- Experience implementing and maintaining configuration management and change control processes.
- Knowledge of network security principles, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and secure network architecture.
- Experience supporting 24/7 operations with defined uptime/SLA requirements.
- Ability to develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of experience in network engineering, network operations, infrastructure roles, with leadership responsibilities.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent (CCIE preferred but not required).
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience supporting federal government environments.
- Experience managing large-scale, geographically distributed enterprise networks.
- Familiarity with ITIL-based ITSM/ITOM processes for incident, change, and problem management.
- Experience supporting VoIP and VTC network infrastructures.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud networking and external connectivity integration.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills across engineering, operations, and vendor teams.
- Experience managing network performance, availability, and SLA compliance reporting.
- Ability to operate effectively in high-tempo, mission-critical environments.
