Description

First National Bank is seeking a full-time Network Security Administrator to join our Information Technology team in Danville, VA. This position is responsible for supporting the administration, maintenance, security, and daily operation of the Bank's technology infrastructure. The Network Security Administrator plays an important role in helping ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Bank's information systems while providing technical support to employees across the organization.

This position will assist with network operations, information security initiatives, systems administration, cybersecurity monitoring, technology projects, and regulatory compliance support. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing an extraordinary customer experience to internal and external customers.

What will you be doing in this role?
  • Administering and monitoring the Bank's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless networks, VPN connectivity, routers, switches, firewalls, and related network appliances.
  • Supporting the Bank's Information Security Program by monitoring security alerts, assisting with vulnerability and patch management, supporting access controls, and participating in incident response activities.
  • Providing Tier I and Tier II technical support for hardware, software, telecommunications, business applications, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Teams, workstations, printers, mobile devices, and connectivity issues.
  • Assisting with systems administration, including Windows servers, virtual environments, storage systems, cloud-based services, backups, disaster recovery, routine maintenance, software updates, and system patching.
  • Supporting technology projects, network upgrades, onboarding and offboarding processes, equipment deployment, and after-hours maintenance or support activities as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, inventory records, ticketing system updates, and network diagrams.
  • Coordinating with vendors and support audits, regulatory examinations, cybersecurity assessments, and third-party security reviews.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, Bank policies and procedures, and required training expectations.

Requirements

What will you need?
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience in a financial institution.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant information technology or information security experience.
  • Working knowledge of networks and network security, hardware and peripherals, virtualized environments, endpoint detection response solutions, vulnerability and patch management, incident response, wired and wireless technologies, Microsoft Office 365, operating systems, PCs, websites, and telephone/voice mail systems.
  • Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, and Nutanix technologies preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications preferred, such as Cisco, Microsoft, cloud computing, AI, or other enterprise IT certifications.
  • Strong customer service skills and a reputation for excellence.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, set priorities, manage details, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel to office or branch locations as required. Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
