Minimum qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in DWDM or TCP/IP or system design operations methodology.
- Experience working with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications environment.
Preferred qualifications: - Experience in Layer 1 optical transmissions systems, Layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations.
- Experience with fiber types, physical fiber characteristics, and standard testing tools (e.g., OSA, BERT, OTDR).
- Experience troubleshooting DWDM systems, including DWDM topology and architecture.
- Experience with network transport design, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Experience with networking and network troubleshooting.

Responsibilities - Build and operate Google's network reliably and at scale.
- Execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide.
- Develop creative approaches and collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep operational costs low.
- Monitor the network and repair issues while anticipating needs and escalating issues.
- Own network documentation, update and maintain network designs and plans.
