Job Title: Network & Identity Infrastructure Consultant
Overview / Summary
Seeking a Network & Identity Infrastructure Consultant to support enterprise network and identity services modernization initiatives. This position will work within the Network Operations Center and support SD-WAN, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), secure authentication services, Active Directory enhancements, and enterprise network operations. The consultant will collaborate with Network, Security, and other IT teams to deploy, support, troubleshoot, and maintain critical enterprise infrastructure while following change management and security standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Support enterprise network and identity initiatives including SD-WAN deployment, PKI lifecycle management, and secure authentication services
• Monitor, identify, troubleshoot, and remediate issues with enterprise network and identity services
• Support network connectivity and authentication services on Windows-based systems
• Support connectivity and secure access on mobile devices, including Apple devices
• Manage network and identity infrastructure throughout its lifecycle
• Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, coverage, and design documentation
• Assist with deployment, configuration, and support of SD-WAN, PKI, and secure authentication solutions
• Perform enterprise network deployments, installations, and upgrades
• Perform firmware, software, security, and feature upgrades across network and identity platforms
• Monitor and resolve assigned tickets related to network, authentication, and connectivity services
• Serve as a primary support resource for network and authentication-related technical issues
• Assist staff and contractors with network, authentication, and connectivity problem resolution
• Coordinate and assist with testing and validation of network and identity solutions
• Adhere to organizational security and IT policies and standards
• Collaborate with Network, Security, Server Hosting, and other stakeholder groups
• Assist with system and network installations, upgrades, and equipment racking
• Review and improve network and identity documentation
• Plan, organize, review, and implement project milestones to completion
• Provide status updates, progress reports, and deliverables updates to project teams and project managers
• Perform other assigned duties as needed
Required Qualifications
• Associate degree in a relevant field OR high school diploma with equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of experience with enterprise network infrastructure and LAN administration
• 3+ years of experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting switches and wireless access points
• 3+ years of experience with SD-WAN, PKI, and secure authentication services
• 3+ years of experience troubleshooting network connectivity on Windows and mobile devices
• 3+ years of experience creating, reading, and maintaining network documentation and diagrams
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and respond to priority tasks as needed
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to form productive working relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• Ability to perform physical network work, including lifting up to 40 lbs and working on ladders
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the state to remote sites
• Availability for frequent site visits, including occasional travel beyond normal business hours
Preferred Qualifications
• Current or previously held network-related certification from organizations such as CompTIA, Cisco, or Microsoft
• Cisco Networking Academy or similar networking bootcamp/training
