Position Summary

Role Overview
  • We are seeking a Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of network infrastructure across the organization.
  • This role is focused on ensuring the reliability, performance, scalability, and security of enterprise network environments, including WAN, LAN, wireless, firewalls, VPNs, and related connectivity solutions. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and able to troubleshoot complex network issues while supporting both operational stability and infrastructure improvements.
  • This person will work closely with IT Infrastructure, Security, Help Desk, field operations, vendors, and other internal stakeholders to support network availability, issue resolution, system upgrades, and ongoing performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Network Operations & Engineering
  • Support the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPN solutions.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, performance, and availability issues across corporate offices, remote users, and field locations.
  • Monitor network health, bandwidth utilization, latency, and device performance to identify issues and support proactive resolution.
  • Assist with network changes, upgrades, patches, firmware updates, hardware refreshes, and configuration updates in accordance with change management practices.
  • Support WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, internet connectivity, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, and wireless networking environments.
  • Partner with Security and Infrastructure teams to help maintain secure network configurations, firewall rules, segmentation, access controls, and VPN connectivity.
  • Document network topology, configurations, standards, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to support incident resolution, circuit provisioning, equipment replacement, and service performance tracking.
  • Assist with root cause analysis for network incidents and help implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery efforts related to network infrastructure and connectivity.
  • Participate in testing and validation for new network deployments, failover solutions, performance enhancements, and infrastructure changes.
  • Help ensure network services are reliable, secure, and aligned with operational and business requirements.

Cross-Functional Support & Process Improvement
  • Work with IT teams, business users, field support teams, and vendors to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve network performance, resiliency, monitoring, standardization, and operational efficiency.
  • Support ad hoc reporting, special projects, infrastructure initiatives, and other network-related assignments as needed.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation to support audits, reviews, and operational requirements.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in network engineering, network administration, infrastructure support, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and wireless networking concepts.
  • Experience supporting enterprise network hardware and security devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools, configuration management, and operational support practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to service reliability and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Meraki, Aruba, or similar networking and firewall technologies.
  • Experience supporting multi-site environments with remote locations and distributed network infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking, SD-WAN, zero trust concepts, and network security best practices.
  • Experience in a public company or multi-location operating environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or similar preferred.
