Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer - Project Lead to support increased network operations and infrastructure workloads during an organizational reorganization. This role will focus on enterprise network operations, infrastructure support, troubleshooting, security, maintenance, and field deployment activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with switching, routing, wireless networking, network security, and enterprise network technologies, along with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex connectivity and performance issues. This position requires candidates to work fully on-site in Columbia, South Carolina.

Key Responsibilities
• Monitor, maintain, and support enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructure, including switching, routing, and connectivity services.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues through monitoring, analysis, root cause investigation, and standard troubleshooting methodologies.
• Investigate and resolve network incidents through remote analysis and field-based troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, performance, and security-related issues across enterprise environments.
• Configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, and Fortinet network devices.
• Support enterprise switching, routing, wireless networking, and TCP/IP-based connectivity.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols and technologies including OSPF, BGP, VLANs, spanning tree, and high-availability architectures.
• Support and maintain network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, access controls, and related security controls.
• Assist with troubleshooting and responding to network security-related incidents.
• Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate engineering or support teams when required.
• Participate in on-call support activities and provide timely response to network incidents.
• Perform routine network maintenance activities, including system upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and infrastructure updates.
• Install and deploy network infrastructure equipment in field environments.
• Configure, rack, stack, cable, test, and validate switches and other network equipment during field deployments.
• Perform network equipment testing and connectivity validation following installation and configuration.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams, configuration records, incident documentation, and operational runbooks.
• Document troubleshooting activities, resolutions, configuration changes, and infrastructure updates.
• Collaborate with network engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and other technical teams to maintain reliable and secure technology services.
• Support network infrastructure projects and operational initiatives as assigned.
• Follow established network security, operational, change management, and documentation standards.

Required Qualifications
• Must be a South Carolina resident or willing to relocate to South Carolina before starting the role at their own expense.
• Must be available to work fully on-site in Columbia, South Carolina.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with enterprise network technologies, including switching, routing, wireless networking, and TCP/IP protocols.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, and Fortinet network devices.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience diagnosing and resolving network connectivity, performance, and security-related issues using standard troubleshooting methodologies and tools.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with network security, including firewalls, VPNs, access controls, and security best practices.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience installing, configuring, and supporting network infrastructure equipment.
• Experience with field deployment activities including racking, stacking, cabling, equipment configuration, and testing.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience maintaining technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational records.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with routing protocols and technologies such as OSPF, BGP, VLANs, spanning tree, and high-availability architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with network engineering, security, infrastructure, and operations teams.
