Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a
Network Engineer to support a company supporting the Department of Defense. This position is
onsite at
MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL. This is a
unique opportunity supporting a network modernization effort within a classified CENTCOM environment.Responsibilities for the
Network Engineer include:
- Assess existing Cisco Catalyst switching infrastructure and network topology.
- Identify configuration gaps, single points of failure, and resiliency improvements.
- Implement approved changes on Cisco Catalyst 9300X switches.
- Validate Layer 2 and Layer 3 network functionality after modernization efforts.
- Perform failover, redundancy, and convergence testing.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across switches, servers, and storage systems.
- Develop network diagrams, configuration documentation, and as-built records.
Required Qualifications for the
Network Engineer include:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst 9000-series switches, preferably 9300X.
- Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts.
- Experience with VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, routing, and network redundancy.
- Experience with Brocade switches, HPE 280 and 380 servers, and NetApp.
- Proven ability to assess and modernize enterprise network environments.
- Strong troubleshooting experience in production or mission-critical environments.
- Ability to create technical documentation and implementation records.
