Lockheed Martin is seeking a talented level 2 Network Engineer with a Secret clearance to work from our Boulder, CO location.

SBIRS and the Next-Gen GEO OPIR ground stations form the backbone of the United States' missile-warning architecture. By delivering near-real-time, high-confidence detection of ballistic missile launches and other hostile trajectories, these systems provide life-saving early warning for the warfighter, enable rapid decision-making, and support cueing of defensive interceptors and command-and-control assets.
The Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Infrastructure Team is seeking a Network Engineer to design, build, and sustain the ground-station platform that supports both SBIRS and the Next-Gen GEO OPIR ground stations. In this role you will work closely with software, security, and mission engineers to deliver ultra-reliable, secure, and scalable ground-systems that enable continuous infrared surveillance and missile-warning capabilities for legacy and next-generation satellite constellations.
As Network Engineer you will:
• Design and plan network communications systems.
• Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
• Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
• Conduct testing of network design.
• Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
This is an EMERGING PROFESSIONAL (level 2) ROLE where candidates typically require 1+ years of professional experience and a BS degree.
Basic Qualifications
• Design, build, test and troubleshoot network systems
• Current active clearance
• A fast learner who as had ability to work in a team setting, in addition to the ability to receive taskings from the team and drive to completion independently
• Foundational Understanding of routing and switching protocols
• Foundational understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS,
• Foundational understanding of firewall policies,
• Foundational understanding of network administration
• Foundational understanding of Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switching platforms
• Foundational understanding of maintenance and troubleshooting tools including but not limited to Wireshark, Splunk, Infoblox NetMRI
• Familiar with DISA STIG checklist and hardening Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches
• Create Change management tickets and tracking
• Jira and Confluence experience
Desired skills
• Experience operating within Red Hat based environments
• Experience with TACLANE configuration
• Experience with Cisco NextGen Firewalls
• Experience with ISE (TACACS+)
• Experience ACI administration/maintenance
• Experience with F5 and Juniper (legacy equipment)
Clearance Level: Current active clearance (TS/SCI)
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $70,100 - $123,625. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $80,600 - $139,840. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
