Basic Function and Distinguishing CharacteristicsUnder the direction of the Network Operations Supervisor is responsible for the Imperial County Network operations. This position will also provide consultancy services for the design and implementation of new network and data center initiatives, develop advanced levels of competency to deliver high levels of network and data center availability, and provide support for strategic planning in terms of best practice, cost management, and application of emerging technologies.
Education and Experience/ Licenses and Other RequirementsFive years experience in network administration/engineering and architecture including experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools.
Valid California Driver's License Professional certification, e.g. Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) as determined by assignment.
Supplemental InformationA valid driver's license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC a7 160020. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
This position may require pre-employment drug test, physical examination, and fingerprinting for a background investigation.
