About the Role:Job Title : Optical Network EngineerKey Responsibilities
- Perform high quality network and/or systems operations, deployments, scaling, and more.
- Create and implement changes to the network.
- Support network projects in the areas of network sustaining engineering, network deployment/implementation, network scaling, technology refresh, best practices application, and/or network optimization.
- Providing critical network support to diagnose, mitigate impact, and resolve large-scale networking events.
- Operate and troubleshoot network routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configurations issues; including necessary low-level application interaction, Linux & Unix systems, and networking software tools.
- Maintain standards across the networking toolset and ensure that we are fully compliant to those standards and policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years experience with the rollout and maintenance of large DWDM Networks and Optical Network Technologies
- 3+ years of experience with optical planning and modeling tools.
- 3+ years of experience with optical network design and troubleshooting.
- 1+ year(s) of professional development experience with Python or a similar tool for network automation scripting.
Desired Qualifications
- Expert network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills.
- In depth working knowledge of IP Networking fundamentals.
- In depth Linux/Unix experience and the ability to script/program in python or a similar scripting language.
- Knowledge of L2 and L3 routing.
- A relevant degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience in a large-scale network environment.
Location : Seattle, WA
Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $98,000 - $105,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is eligible for commissions in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions for this position are estimated to be based on individual performance. Additionally, this role is also eligible for bonus based on achievement of mutually agreed KRAs.
