Full Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Network Coordinator eliminates obstacles that prevent teachers, school leaders and departmental staff from focusing on instruction and the work that supports instruction every day. The Network Coordinator accomplishes this by delivering a scalable, flexible and reliable infrastructure that includes an impenetrable network. Specifically, the Network Coordinator achieves network and infrastructure excellence throughout the district with emphasis in the following areas: technology infrastructure, network services, business continuity, disaster recovery, cybersecurity systems, communication systems and trusted learning environments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field, required

Master's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field, preferred

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Experience with operating systems and network design, maintenance, and troubleshooting, required

Knowledge of configuring, deploying, and monitoring network and security infrastructure, required

Experience:

Three (3) years in information systems, technology or similar role, required

One (1) year directly or indirectly managing others, required

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Perform highly advanced, supervisory work in network infrastructure management includes wireless platform and development of resilience needed to avoid any connectivity outages.
  1. Hire and develop network staff in order to perform the work with promptness and accuracy.
  1. Set strategic direction for district's network infrastructure that aligns with district goals.
  1. Design and implement network and infrastructure plans for the district, protecting network assets and identifying any network incident detection, incident response, threat assessment, cyber intelligence, network and security software, and vulnerability assessment and services.
  1. Oversee the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of network systems and power management throughout the district.
  1. Manage team to provide superior network, virtual server environment, telecommunications, and network security portfolio.
  1. Maintain, support, design failover contingencies district equipment in a LAN/WAN/Internet/Intranet environment to include network infrastructure, storage solutions, servers and computers.
  1. Develop and execute strategies to ensure business continuity, emergency management and disaster recovery.
  1. Design, install, manage and maintain district communications infrastructure, campus equipment, IP surveillance equipment, audio and visual equipment.
  1. Design, install, manage and maintain security of networks, firewalls, virtualized servers, computers, devices.
  1. Document and implement district network and security standards and procedures.
  1. Develop methods to train, communicate to district staff on best network security protocols.
  1. Develop a collaborative team of experts that performs with a sense of urgency and quality outcomes.
  1. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
  1. Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).

Working Days: 226

Daily Rate pay range:

Minimum: $ 332.76

Maximum: $ 464.28

Note: Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person's job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.
