Job Summary
The NetworkAdministrator, Security Operations Supportis responsible foradministering, securing, and continuously improving the enterprise network and security monitoring capabilities. This roleassistswith thedesign, deployment, andoperation ofCisco Merakior equivalentSD-WAN and switching environments,maintainsCisco licensing compliance, and partners with Security Operations to ensureSIEM telemetry is complete, high quality, and actionable. The ideal candidate is hands-on, documentation-minded, and comfortable balancing operational reliability with security best practices
Key Duties
Network & Security Operations (Merakior equivalent)SD-WAN and Switching)
- Assist with administration ofCisco Merakior equivalentDashboard for SD-WAN, security appliances, and switching across sites (templates, policies, firmware, and configuration standards).
- Configure andmaintainSD-WAN uplinks, VPN topologies (AutoVPN/site-to-site), traffic shaping, QoS, and failover to support business-critical applications.
- Assist with implantation andmaintenance of network segmentationand access control (VLANs, ACLs, port security, 802.1X/MAB where applicable) following least privilege principles.
- Help manage Merakior equivalentswitch configuration, stacking, PoE budgets, and lifecycle (firmware, replacements, and standard builds).
- Troubleshootroutine network issues and escalate complex problems to manager
Security Monitoring & Response Enablement (Rapid7 SIEMor equivalent)
- Assist in maintaining network and security log sources and validate log collection under established procedures.(Rapid7SIEM,Merakior equivalentevents, syslog, authentication, DNS, VPN, andfirewalltelemetry
- Validate log coverage, parsing, time synchronization, and retention to support investigations, compliance, and alerting reliability.
- Partnerwith Security Operations to tune detection logic, reduce false positives, and create dashboards/queries for network-relevant use cases.
- Help support incident response by providing network-level evidence (flows, device events, VPN history, and configuration changes) andsupporting incident response activities by gathering network dataand documentation as directed.
Cisco Licensing & Asset Governance
- Assist with the maintenanceaccurateinventories for Merakior equivalenthardware and licenses; manage renewals, co-term/subscription alignment, and entitlement changes.
- Coordinate with procurement, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensuretimelyrenewals and avoid service interruptions.
- Maintain licensing records, inventory documentationand related administrative records to support internal audits and vendor compliance
Security Best Practices, Hardening & Compliance
- Apply established network security standards, including secure configurations, change control, backups and least-privilege administration
- Support secure remote access technologiesVPN connectivity and MFA-enabled solutions in accordance with established policies
- Contribute to network security standards, runbooks, and SOPs;participatein tabletop exercises and post-incident reviews.
- Partner with IT and Security teams on network improvement initiatives and provide technical support for security-related projects as assigned

Qualifications
- Bachelor27s Degreein computer sciencerequired; Industry certifications(CCNA/CCNP, Cisco Merakior equivalentCMNA, or security certifications (Security+, SSCP, or equivalent)preferredor4-5years of hands-on network administration with a in an enterprise environment in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 2years97experiencewithin Network Administration
- Demonstrated experiencehelpingadministerCisco MerakiSD-WAN,Meraki switches,or equivalent(templates, VLANs, routing, VPN, and firmware management).
- Working knowledge of SIEM platforms (Rapid7 or equivalent) and familiarity with network device log collection and basic troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of Cisco licensing models and processes (renewals, co-term/subscriptions, entitlements, and inventory management).
- Strong fundamentals in TCP/IP, VLANs, routing (static/dynamic concepts), DHCP/DNS, NAT, VPN, andfirewallpolicy concepts.
- Experience with documentation, change management, and operational runbooks in regulated or audit-driven environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot methodically, communicate clearly, and collaborate across IT and Security teams.
Preferred
- Working knowledge of network access control, identity services, and secure wireless networking concepts
- Familiarity with vulnerability management workflows and translating findings into network remediation actions.
- Experienceoperatingin environments with compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, FDA, ISO, HIPAA, or similar).
- CiscoMerakior equivalent: SD-WAN,security appliances,switching, Dashboard templates/policies, eventlogsand troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of SIEM platforms and network device log collection
- Network security fundamentals, including VLANs, ACLs, firewall concepts and secure configuration practices
- Ability to partner with Security Operations to support network-related security initiatives
