Full Job Description
The Defense Sector, Decision Advantage Business Area at Leidos is thrilled to offer a unique opportunity for a Network Administrator to support a critical Air Force network system. As the prime contractor, Leidos will provide direction support to the Air Force Software Maintenance Group which serves as the Air Logistics Center single organic Source of Mission Critical Computer Resources (MCCR) and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) software for all assigned prime system and equipment for all echelons of maintenance required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide IBM I OS V7R5/S914 system administration (end user support, security monitoring, database administration, configuration, software enhancements, program fix / patch processes and manage backup/recovery procedures) on development and production servers.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and evaluate computer network problems to resolve production & development server connectivity issues.
  • Analyze server error logs and report potential problems, engaging necessary parties for resolution.
  • Monitor server activity logs and make recommendations to improve server performance and availability.
  • Monitor security posture of servers to conform to AFNET requirements. Maintain and manage platform related documentation per AFMC requirements. Ensure the production server security posture is current and all web interface certificates meet AFNET criteria. Maintain accurate network policies with remote users network interfaces information and update necessary reference documentation.
  • Ability to utilize IBM i S914 HMC (Hardware Management Console) to manage server configuration.
  • Proficiency with utilizing IBM Navigator for I, IBM I Access Client Solutions, IBM DCM (Digital Certificate Mgmt)


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree with 4 or more years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 or more years of prior relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain.
  • Must have active Security+ certification
  • Proficient in the following software applications: IBM i V7R5 Operating System, Integrated File System, DB/2 database, Microsoft Excel, Word, Powershell, Wynne Systems 'Strategi' web middleware application configuration/management, Upland Auditable Document Control Management/400, T.L. Ashford BarCode /400 Applied Logic/400 FEUPRO (File Edit Utility) & ProEncrypt, Fortra AS400 report splitter, Email Report Server/400, CSV/PDF converter
  • Experience with the following hardware: IBM S914 POWER server architecture, IBM TS4300 Tape Library, IBM 7063 CR1 Hardware Management Console, IBM 7042 CR8 Hardware Management Console


Preferred Qualification
  • Strong military, federal, or defense contractor experience commensurate with a senior NCO rank or higher in logistics, property accountability, depot operations, and maintenance support required. The most relevant military specialties include:
    • Air Force 2S0X1
    • USN Ratings LS or RS
    • Marine Corps MOS 3043
    • Army MOS 92Y
    • Coast Guard Rating SK
  • Must demonstrate reliability, strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to multitask and follow up on action items and requests in a timely manner.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Focus on providing quality support and accurate information.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
