Full Job Description
Lactalis USA part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Network Administrator based in Buffalo, NY. This position is part of a team that contributes to network and security projects from conception through maintenance. The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining and supporting LAN/WAN communications including VOIP and telepresence, while improving reliability, scalability and security. Requirements Key responsibilities for this position include: Administration of routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VOIP phone system, VOIP phones, smartphones, security updates and patches. Continually improves the networks by monitoring and evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput and latency. Planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of all network equipment. Defining network policies and procedures. Participate in technical projects with both internal and vendor supplied resources. In some cases, this may include user needs assessment, business benefit analysis, equipment selection and task scheduling. Reporting of environment operational status by gathering and prioritizing information. Contribution to network and security performance by assisting in definition of policy and "best practices", monitoring, and reporting on adherence. Creation and maintenance of documentation on network and processes for both internal department use and user education. Member of a team and participates in off hours, on-call rotation. Provides technical support and guidance to Help Desk Technicians & all staff. Completion of related tasks as needed to satisfy departmental and company mission. Participate in team leadership and mentoring of junior members Travel and / or extended or off work hours may be required.
