Network AdministratorPosition SummaryThe Office of Technology supports the vision for Camden City School District by ensuring that students and employees of the district have access to high quality technology to drive student learning and employee productivity. Reporting to the Senior Officer Technology and working closely with other central office departments, the
Network Administrator is responsible for supporting efficient, high-quality implementation of the district's technology infrastructure approach. The
Network Administrator will play an integral role in supporting the day to day operations of technology equipment, installation and disposal of technology hardware and software and response to customer concerns.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's preferred.
- Certification preferred in at least one of the following areas: Cisco Certified Network Associate, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate
- Other professional IT certification will be considered; however, job training that does not result in certification will not be considered
- At least 3-5 years of IT work experience preferred in the following areas: architecture design and implementation; product lifecycle management; planning & operations; LAN, WAN, MAN, SAN and VOIP management; TCP/IP; network routing; protocols; load balancers; multi-tiered security and disaster recovery systems; and IT continuity of operations plans (COOP).
- Experience with the following products preferred: Cisco unified communications voice and data, Microsoft 365 - Active Directory, Hyper-V, Exchange, Sharepoint, Proofpoint, Cisco - Unified Computing System, ASA, FirePOWER, FireAMP, WSA, VMware, vSphere, vCenter, EqualLogic Compellent, and Veeam
- A valid driver's license as well as current insurance and vehicle with valid registration
- Required criminal history background check, TB test and physical, and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
Role and ResponsibilitiesMajor responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:- Installs, manages and maintains hardware and software that supports schools, administration and operations of the Camden City School District (i.e. servers, virtual servers, etc.)
- Supports and maintains Active Directory user account provisioning/deprovisioning
- Monitors and reports the health of the server and environment on a real time basis
- Supports the specification and installation of network security patches and upgrades
- Assists in resolving Level 2 related IT issues as requested
- Proactively addresses customer needs related to Level 3 IT issues and assigns actions and resolutions to LAN Specialists as appropriate, and takes direction from IT Engineers in the resolution of Level 4 IT issues
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots IT issues that arise on a daily basis including malware, viruses and/or connectivity issues and resolves issues, or assigns to Customer Service Engineers to address as appropriate
- Tracks and monitors equipment throughout its life cycle
- Completes all outstanding requests for assistance in a timely manner
- Uses professional judgment in providing real-time responses to issues, while conscientiously performing required tracking in the formal system(s) after time sensitive needs are addressed
- Performs wiring that supports installation of technology hardware and software, without overlapping or impinging on any contractual agreements with other district personnel
The Network Administrator may also take on other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Officer and/or designee.

Terms of EmploymentTwelve-month position. Salary, benefits, and conditions of employment shall be in accordance with Board policy and applicable agreements.
EvaluationPerformance shall be evaluated annually in accordance with Board policy, administrative regulations, and district leadership procedures.

Minimum Starting Salary: $90,000.00
Maximum Starting Salary: $115,000.00
Residency RequirementUnder New Jersey's "New Jersey First Act" (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7), all employees of New Jersey public school districts must maintain bona fide New Jersey residency as a condition of employment. Candidates must already reside in New Jersey or establish residency within the required timeframe after hire. Current employees who were hired on or before September 1, 2011 are exempt from this requirement and may continue to reside outside the state. In limited circumstances, applicants may request a residency waiver through the state's Employee Residency Review Committee if they can demonstrate critical need or hardship; approval is not guaranteed.
