Full Job Description
NetSuite Product Specialist

Functional-Lead, Hands-On Developer

Position Overview:

We're hiring a NetSuite Product Specialist who spends the majority of their time on requirements gathering, process design, and stakeholder partnership - and who can also personally build and deploy the customizations, workflows, and scripts needed to support the business, following our established CI/CD deployment process. This role owns solutions end-to-end, from discovery through go-live, without needing to hand off routine development work to someone else.

What you will do:

Business Analysis (primary focus, ~75%)
  • Own requirements gathering across Finance, Ops and other business stakeholders
  • Translate business needs into functional specs, user stories, and process documentation
  • Run fit-gap analysis: native NetSuite feature vs. SuiteApp vs. custom build
  • Lead UAT planning and execution, and manage stakeholder sign-off
  • Maintain the enhancement backlog and prioritize against business impact
  • Document current-state and future-state process flows
  • Act as the primary point of contact for "how do we do X in NetSuite" questions

Development & Deployment (supporting, ~25%)
  • Build routine customizations: custom fields/records/forms, saved searches, SuiteFlow workflows
  • Write and maintain light-to-moderate SuiteScript (2.x) - User Event, Client, and Scheduled scripts for common use cases
  • Deploy changes following our CI/CD pipeline: sandbox → test → production, using SDF and Git-based version control
  • Participate in code review and release processes rather than working ad hoc in production
  • Escalate and partner with a developer or contractor for complex integrations, Map/Reduce scripts, or heavy custom builds outside scope

Financial Process & Reporting Expertise
  • Deep functional knowledge of core NetSuite financial processes: Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) and Record-to-Report (R2R)
  • Hands-on experience configuring Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) and revenue recognition (ASC 606) rules
  • Proficiency building and maintaining custom financial statements with Financial Report Builder (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Experience with OneWorld multi-subsidiary consolidations, multi-currency, and intercompany processes
  • Familiarity with SuiteAnalytics (saved searches, datasets, workbooks) for financial and operational reporting

Administration
  • Manage roles, permissions, and configuration changes
  • Maintain technical and functional documentation for all customizations
  • Monitor for governance limit issues and flag when a change needs deeper development involvement

What you will need:

  • 5+ years of NetSuite experience, primarily in a functional/business analyst capacity
  • Working proficiency in SuiteScript 2.x (User Event, Client, Scheduled scripts) - comfortable reading, modifying, and writing scripts independently, without needing expert-level depth
  • Familiarity with SuiteFlow and SuiteBuilder for workflow and customization builds
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts as applied to NetSuite: sandbox/test/production promotion, SDF, version control (Git), and structured release cycles - comfortable working within an existing pipeline
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; this person will spend most of their time with business stakeholders
  • Experience running fit-gap analysis and coordinating UAT

Preferred / Nice-to-Have:

  • NetSuite certifications (SuiteFoundation, ERP Consultant)
  • Exposure to SuiteTalk/REST APIs or middleware
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum ceremonies for internal IT / business systems work
