Job Summary
The NetBox Data Architect will support the establishment of NetBox as the single source of truth for network device inventory data and implement bi-directional synchronization between NetBox and the organization's existing Oracle network inventory database. The role will support discovery, design, development, testing, documentation, data migration, and implementation activities while working collaboratively with network engineering and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement ETL and data migration solutions supporting the synchronization between NetBox and Oracle.
• Establish NetBox as the primary source for network device inventory data entry.
• Design and implement bi-directional synchronization between NetBox and Oracle.
• Develop and maintain schema mappings between NetBox and Oracle.
• Integrate with Oracle databases and perform data extraction and transformation activities.
• Design data models supporting network inventory objects, including devices, interfaces, IPs, VLANs, prefixes, circuits, tenants, and related objects.
• Develop and implement synchronization patterns, including conflict handling and data reconciliation.
• Support data cleansing, validation, migration, and reconciliation activities.
• Develop integration solutions using Python or other appropriate integration development languages.
• Configure and support NetBox architecture, APIs, and operational best practices.
• Establish a development environment and support testing of synchronization and migration processes.
• Perform discovery and collaborate with internal technical teams to understand existing network inventory processes and requirements.
• Translate network engineering and operational requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Conduct testing and validation to ensure the synchronization process is reliable and production-ready.
• Document schema mappings, architecture decisions, integration processes, and operational procedures.
• Support implementation, production deployment, and post-implementation activities.
• Provide knowledge transfer and documentation to internal teams.
• Work independently while maintaining clear and regular communication with stakeholders and internal technical teams.
