Scope of PositionScope of Job: Promotes the reliability of the Bulk Power System through rigorous compliance with applicable NERC standards monitoring and enforcement activities and functions as a team member for internal and external audit preparation. Ensures relevant, valid, reliable, stacking, and sufficient evidence is available to demonstrate compliance. EDFps NERC Compliance Services Group supports both EDFps and Third-Party assets
Responsibilities
- Ensures effective regulatory compliance to the North American Reliability Corporation (NERC) Operations and Planning (O&P) Standards by providing guidance to support and enhance operational business unit’s risk management.
- Maintains and revises as needed EDFps compliance program infrastructure including the administration and maintenance of compliance policies, programs, and procedures related to the NERC O&P Standards.
- Prepares, coordinates, and supports compliance audits conducted by internal resources, consultants, or regulatory organizations, may include travel to sites.
- Works with responsible EDFps organizations to coordinate resolution of compliance issues and develop improvement recommendations and mitigation plans.
- Documents and submits potential violations to regulatory organizations and ensures they are tracked for timely resolution and fully documented in auditable records.
- Utilizes EDFps compliance technology to assign, track and monitor compliance efforts.
- Establishes, documents, and maintains procedures and guidelines related to the day-to-day operational support provided to operations and business unit personnel
- Coordinates compliance self-certification and data submittal activities.
- Informs responsible EDFps organizations regarding NERC Standards Development activities associated with NERC’s Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards. Solicits input from appropriate EDFps subject matter experts and effectively communicates EDFps’s position on proposed regulatory standards to NERC.
- Ensures timely adherence from responsible EDFps business units to all new/revised NERC and NERC RTO regulatory obligations associated with Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards.
- Maintains awareness of emerging utility industry issues through benchmarking and participation in appropriate utility forums/groups.
- Recommends and/or implements appropriate programs/initiatives, leading project teams as necessary to implement effective integration of compliance programs or initiatives in a timely manner.

Supervision of Others: No direct reports
Working Conditions: 85% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 15% of time is spent outside of the office visiting EDFps and Third-Party sites in additional to attending various conferences and meetings.
Fiscal Responsibilities: Operates within budget
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline required.
- Five (5+) or more years of experience working in a compliance or audit role required.
- Technical knowledge and experience with NERC Operations & Planning standards required.
- Experience working in a regulated entity, in the electricity sector strongly preferred.
