Responsibilities

This is an onsite position at Peraton's customer site: NSWCCD West Bethesda, MD.

 

Peraton is hiring a Naval Structures Modeling Engineer to do the following:

  • Perform research as part of the US Navy's Structural Acoustics research team at NSWC Carderock Division. 
  • Candidate will perform research using Finite Element Modeling / Finite Element Analysis (FEM/FEA) tools to support ongoing research into the acoustics of US Navy platforms. 
  • Significant portion of responsibilities will involve research into FEM models using meshes of complex Naval structures using commercial FEM tools. 
  • Additional efforts will include running FEA tools, generating results, and assisting Government SMEs in analysis of the FEA results. 

Candidate will work within a Government - Contractor team performing multiple projects concurrently.  A successful candidate must be a self-starter able to communicate with multiple teams, set and adjust priorities and schedules, and deliver results per schedule.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated background performing research into Finite Element Modeling and Analysis.  Must have experience with complex structures.
  • Demonstrated experience using commercial FEM/FEA tools such as COMSOL, ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL
  • DoD SECRET Clearance
Target Salary Range$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
