Full Job Description
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Naval Ship DesignEngineer to join our team. This position is remote.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Providing technical engineering support for the SEA 05 Ship Design Manager (SDM) Warfare System/C4ISR programs.
  • Assessing shipboard requirements and providing recommended engineering design and integration solutions that minimize shipboard design impacts.
  • Evaluating and providing inputs to shipbuilding contract documentation such as Contract Drawings, Schedules A & C, and Ship Specifications.
  • Conducting engineering reviews of shipbuilder products, including Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Detail Design Drawings, and CDRLs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assisting in the review and QA process for the revision of LHA CS/C4ISR Contract Drawings.
  • Evaluating Bidders' questions and ECPs for compliance with technical scope.
  • Providing technical coordination between the Ship Program Manager, SEA 05, various PARMs, support contractors, ISEAs, SSGC, and shipbuilding personnel to mitigate the impact of unavoidable changes.
  • Travel up to 10%


Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • 7+ years of experience in naval ship design and technical engineering support
  • Experience assessing shipboard requirements and providing engineering design and integration solutions.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, naval architecture, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience with LHA amphibious assault ship CS/C4ISR systems and contract documentation.


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret security clearance
  • Must obtain an interim secret security clearance to start.


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and related equipment.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $70,200.00-$117,000.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
