Responsibilities

  • Manage USA client tenders and international tenders affecting the USA.
  • Prospect and manage outgoing tenders in collaboration with multiple teams.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers as necessary.
  • Collect and ensure timely delivery of rates from stakeholders to customers.
  • Review market rate levels to maintain competitiveness in tender submissions.
  • Implement strategies for closing tenders based on customer specifications.
  • Provide feedback and insights on tender outcomes to improve future competitiveness.

Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, high-performing National Tender Manager to join our growing team.

What you will do:
  • Handle USA client tenders
  • Handle USA part of tenders originating in other countries
  • Prospecting, qualification, distribution and monitoring / management of outgoing tenders for Rohlig business in collaboration with other teams
  • Work together with other pricing / tender / procurement desks around the world
  • Work closely with USA Procurement / Sales and Management teams
  • Contact carriers / negotiate rates if needed
  • Collect rates from various stakeholders and ensure professional on-time delivery to customers
  • Critically review and determine market correct rate levels
  • Determining and implementing tender closing strategies according to customers' specifications
  • Updating all spreadsheets, databases and company sales records
  • Control the key milestones within each submission
  • Provide feedback to all teams on competitiveness in tender participations
  • Record feedback on tenders handled so as to learn from every tender participation with the purpose of improving Rohlig competitiveness
  • Ensure a high performance, results focused, culture / environment within the department
  • General sales support functions as / when needed on flexible basis
  • Back up for pricing team and Procurement when someone is out


Administration:
  • Monitor competitor activity and industry trends
  • Assist in the production of monthly statistical tender report
  • Attend meetings with sales team members if applicable
  • Attend training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills if applicable


Performance measures:
  • Interacts effectively through communication, writing and professional presentation in order to deliver successful business results
  • Excellence in service delivery - displays good interdepartmental relationships and ensures customers, suppliers and overseas agents needs are a primary function of one's actions and decisions while
  • developing and sustaining productive customer relationships.
  • Ensure tender / offer accuracy
  • Ensure tenders are submitted consistently ahead of the deadlines set by the tender author
  • Financial Awareness - Has an understanding of the key financial principles that reflect and drive profitability and as part of the team ensure the department achieves its financial and quality objectives. Adhere to the minimum standard to which Röhlig USA is committed (ISO [redacted], ISO 14001:2004), and implementation of Röhlig USA Procedures, financial and quality objectives
