How you create impact- Develop and execute comprehensive trade lane strategies to increase market share, volume growth, and profitability across the Asia-to-Canada corridor.
- Identify new business opportunities, market segments, and growth initiatives aligned with company objectives.
- Analyze market trends, supply and demand dynamics, and competitive activity to support strategic decision-making.
- Optimize carrier mix and routing strategies to maximize service quality, capacity availability, and financial performance.
- Develop and maintain pricing strategies that drive revenue growth and improve gross profit per TEU.
- Monitor market indices and pricing benchmarks, including SCFI and Xeneta, to inform commercial decisions.
- Serve as the primary commercial contact for ocean carriers operating in the Canadian market.
- Build and maintain strong carrier relationships while supporting commercial negotiations and strategic partnerships.
- Monitor carrier performance and address operational escalations to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Forecast trade lane demand and align capacity commitments to support customer requirements and business growth.
- Optimize vessel space allocation and utilization through effective capacity planning processes.
- Collaborate closely with sales, key account management, operations, and pricing teams across origin and destination locations.
- Prepare and present trade performance reporting, including volume, profitability, and strategic initiatives.
- Provide recommendations and corrective actions based on performance metrics and market intelligence.
- Stay informed on industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging market opportunities impacting the transpacific trade.
What we would like you to bring- 10+ years of experience in ocean freight, sea logistics, trade management, carrier management, pricing, or freight forwarding, with strong knowledge of Transpacific trade dynamics.
- 5+ years of experience developing and executing commercial strategies focused on volume growth, revenue optimization, and market expansion.
- Proven experience managing ocean carrier relationships, negotiating commercial agreements, and driving service performance improvements.
- Strong understanding of ocean freight pricing, capacity management, forecasting methodologies, and market indices such as Xeneta, SCFI, or similar benchmarking tools.
- Demonstrated analytical and financial acumen, including experience evaluating profitability, yield management, trade lane performance, and market trends.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence teams across multiple countries, functions, and levels of leadership.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced global environment, balancing strategic planning with day-to-day execution while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and dental benefits, a retirement savings plan, and tuition reimbursement.
