Overview:
To fully develop a specific Group Market Segment within the Southeast geographic territory as designated by the Director of Sales & Marketing, concentrating on the solicitation of new and profitable business while retaining existing business from that market. To merchandise as skillfully as possible the guest rooms and function space to maximize revenue potential for the hotel and to ensure that the customer has the best possible meeting experience. To achieve monthly room night and revenue goals, develop and implement sales action plans, maintain positive interdepartmental communications and to complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing and Associate Director of Sales.
Location:
This position is eligible for remote work. We welcome candidates based remotely, with a preference for those located in the Charlotte or Raleigh, NC markets. Priority consideration will be given to candidates residing in these areas due to business needs and market focus.
Essential Functions:
- Achieve monthly room night and revenue bookings goals.
- Solicit accounts within assigned market segment.
- Prospect and develop new accounts in line with the hotel's stated Mission Statement.
- Maintain aggressive weekly telephone, site inspection and personal call goals.
- Use all prospect sources as identified.
- Follow up promptly on leads generated by the Global Sales offices and other lead generation services
- Active involvement in industry association and trade shows.
- Achieve budgeted room rate and revenues.
- Is knowledgeable of the subtleties inherent in the various market segments and of the role it plays in maintaining the profitability of the hotel.
- Participate in development of direct mail and all promotions related to the group selling needs
- Is current with all market-related publications in order to stay on top of all industry trends and uncover any potential leads.
- Achieve targeted referral goals for all Omni Hotels.
- Monitor reader board services for potential sources of new group business.
- Is fully aware of all Omni sponsored promotions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Sales Action Plan (KRA's).
- Submit weekly and monthly sales reports on a timely basis.
- Maintain all Delphi accounts and bookings with current trace dated accurate histories and all relevant information regarding booking activity.
- Participate in the ongoing forecasting process.
- Is current and abides by all sales office procedures and systems.
- Participate in meetings as assigned by the Director of Sales.
- Attend morning meetings to review site reviews whenever scheduled.
- Promote a high-quality company image by demonstrating professionalism to both clients and colleagues.
- Recommend improvement of facilities and services as needed.
Candidates may possess:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of upscale hotel or resort group sales experience is required.
- Comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.
- Mastery of Delphi/FDC/Salesforce.
- Extensive experience with writing contracts and responding to RFPs.
- Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to uncover customer needs, negotiate, provide great service, and close business.
- Must be flexible with schedule to work include some evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work in a variety of settings, including sedentary seated computer work, standing for periods of time, and walking the property, and occasionally conducting work that includes lifting and moving objects of up to 50 pounds.
