Who we're looking for

Toyota's Risk Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated National Manager, Commercial Credit Risk Management.

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide independent enterprise leadership and oversight for all commercial credit risk management activities, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our credit portfolio.

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the person in this role will support the department's objective to drive process improvement, optimize credit risk, and provide actionable insights that enable executive leadership to make informed, timely decisions.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you will serve as a key advisor to the Chief Risk Officer, leading a high-performing team to ensure our commercial lending functions are executed with precision and strong control discipline. Success means translating complex credit risk matters into clear strategies that protect the Bank's portfolio while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Lead and inspire a team of managers, analysts, and external partners to deliver commercial lending risk activities with accuracy, timeliness, and strong control discipline.
  • Build and maintain a commercial credit risk management framework that aligns with TFSB's size, complexity, and growth objectives.
  • Drive process improvement and automation opportunities that streamline manual credit risk workflows and strengthen decision-making.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for FDIC examinations, internal audits, and credit risk reviews, ensuring strong exam readiness and timely remediation.
  • Strengthen cross-functional collaboration across Credit, Risk, Underwriting, Operations, Sales, and Finance to support sound credit decisions.
  • Provide independent challenge and oversight across the commercial lending portfolio, including real estate, wholesale, and working capital loans.
  • Lead the preparation of Executive Committee materials and Board of Directors reporting, turning complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.


What you bring

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial credit risk management, credit administration, or portfolio oversight, including leading teams.
  • Extensive experience in underwriting, watchlist borrower management, risk ratings and risk triggers, and committee governance.
  • Experience partnering directly with executive leadership, including the Chief Risk Officer and other senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage complex reporting environments, control-sensitive processes, and vendor relationships.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex risk topics into clear, practical insights.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 15% as business needs may require


Added bonus if you have

  • An MBA or advanced degree in finance, risk management, or a related field.
  • Commercial banking experience in the automotive or other specialty lending sectors.
  • Experience with floorplan, real estate loans, and/or working capital loan products.
  • A track record of improving reporting systems, automating manual processes, and strengthening governance controls.
  • Experience supporting regulatory exams, audits, and board-level reporting.
