JOB SUMMARYThe National Director, Group Exercise (GX) partners with senior leadership to define the long-term GX strategy based on company objectives. This role then translates the strategy into programming, staffing, labor, training, and operating plans that strengthen the member experience and drive sustained membership growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead the GX strategic planning process and establish long-term priorities aligned with company objectives.
- Present strategy, action plans, and results to the Senior Leadership Team each quarter.
- Use member insights to shape a class lineup that keeps up with changing demand.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce national GX programming standards so the brand is consistent across locations.
- Lead GX marketing strategy: find marketing and media opportunities and coordinate launches with the Marketing team.
- Direct how GX field operations are carried out and assess how well they work.
- Develop, deploy, and manage the GX labor budget.
- Lead monthly GX action planning with Membership, Fitness, Legal, Marketing, IT, and HR, turning priorities into clear plans tied to sales goals.
- Develop and present GX concepts and execution plans that support retention, growth, and financial targets.
- Create and implement national GX staffing strategies.
- Lead the development and delivery of format training, oversee field training, and measure whether it's working.
- Help develop and assess the GX field management team.
- Build the team's skills through coaching, performance reviews, and monthly development plans, and resolve operational and performance issues.
QUALIFICATIONS Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Current fitness and GX certifications.
- Five years of senior-level GX field management experience.
- Multi-unit leadership experience.
- Experience leading large-scale projects.
- Experience in strategic planning and budget development.
- Experience designing and implementing business systems.
- Strong people and program management skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to influence and work cross-functionally with senior leaders.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Experience leading GX strategy and operations across a large, geographically dispersed organization.
Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions- May work beyond typical business hours based on business needs.
Travel Requirement- Regular travel by automobile and air is required.
