Full Job Description
As a National Account Manager (NAM) for Bunzl's Processor team, you will build and leverage relationships to drive sales results within your assigned strategic customers. Customer Headquarter and site locations will be distributed throughout the United States; regular travel to the various customer locations will be expected. This role will provide you the opportunity to work with various cross-functional stake holders, including product managers, local field sales, operations and customer support teams.

As part of Bunzl's Processor segment, you'll support the sales of a broad portfolio of disposable products-from paper and packaging to sanitation, safety, and PPE. Your customers will range across various industries, including food production, food service and industrial manufacturing.

This is a U.S. Remote role. While we have the posting listed at our St. Louis HQ office; we will consider applicants that live anywhere in the US as long as they are near a major airport (customer concentration is heavier in the central United States).

Responsibilities:

  • Understand Bunzl's value proposition and execute against it to reach sales and profitability targets.
  • Support the execution of all operational & process components of a successful sales relationship to ensure that SLA/KPIs are met with the customer.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned key customers at all levels of the organization to achieve targeted objectives.
  • Maintain a strong peer relationship with the National Account Coordinator (internal operational execution & support) assigned to your accounts.
  • Develop annual organic sales targets and key initiatives and execute against them.
  • Ability to communicate, coordinate, and cooperate in sales and execution efforts across the broader organization.
  • Act as the liaison between customers and internal teams ensuring clients' requirements are met.
  • Analyze sales data and trends while benchmarking against targets and objectives to drive results.
  • Network with customers to identify and address specific needs.
  • Dedicated to outstanding customer service in order to build relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Support relevant and approved events (i.e. tradeshows) that are relevant to assigned customers.
  • Sustain and drive Division led category and product objectives.
  • Maintain and leverage internal CRM system data.
  • Aid Credit Department in management of accounts receivables when required.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience, education and training strongly preferred.
  • Successful sales experience in food & beverage, grocery, packaging or another relatable field.
  • Previous people leadership or demonstrated peer leadership experience.
  • Strong track record in managing relationships and delivering tangible results.
  • Must be competitive, driven and self-motivated.
  • Ability to think critically/strategically and problem solve using creative solutions.
  • Strong financial acumen (understanding impact of targets and objectives, cause/effect of specific actions).
  • Able to manage multiple projects and objectives simultaneously.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work in a team setting with a diverse group of employees, managers and outside stakeholders.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational and oral/written communication skills in order to successfully sell Bunzl's value proposition.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel required.
  • Significant travel is required; be willing to travel nationally to multiple locations as needed.

  • Bunzl U.S. target salary range: $90,000- $150,000 (+ annual bonus & car allowance), based on experience, education, and geographic location.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance available to employees and eligible dependents starting the first day of the month after 30 days of employment (unless otherwise specified by a collective bargaining agreement).
  • 401(k) retirement plan with a generous company match of $0.75 per $1.00 contributed, up to 6% of eligible pay, available after 30 days.
  • Paid time off, including:
    • 10 vacation days and 2 personal days annually (prorated in the first year based on hire date).
    • 40 hours of sick leave per year, (56 hours of sick leave if hired in WA, in accordance with Washington State law.)
    • 6 paid national holidays and 2 floating holidays annually.
