Fishbeck is actively seeking a creative and talented Civil Engineer in our Columbus, OH office to help service our municipal clients. The qualified candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of professional experience working with communities from design through construction on a broad range of municipal projects. This position requires self-motivation, commitment to high-quality work performance, excellent planning and communication skills and the ability to work independently and with other staff in a project team environment.
Primary Functions- Plan and design for water main, sanitary and storm sewer, and road projects for local municipalities.
- Perform design calculations, quantify bid items, develop cost estimates, execute CAD drafting, and prepare reports.
- Specify project-specific technical specifications, standard construction drawings, and Maintenance of Traffic.
- Assist in Bidding and Construction Phase Services on municipal projects including RFIs, shop drawing review, and as-built drawings.
- Work closely with other technical staff from all Fishbeck offices to assist in providing consulting engineering services from state and private universities, municipalities, and local development clients.
- Interact daily with project teams in a multi-discipline and multi-office environment.
Desired EducationBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Desired Skills/Experience- Successfully passed FE (EIT) Exam.
- Licensed PE is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience with the design of water main, sanitary sewer, and road projects.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
- Experience with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Construction and Material Specifications and ODOT's Local Agency Program is a plus.
- Excellent computer and communication skills.
