Full Job Description
SEI is looking to add a Municipal Bond Credit Analyst as a member of the Fixed Income Team responsible for conducting independent fundamental credit research across the municipal bond market.

The role will focus primarily on investment-grade municipal credits, with selective coverage of high-yield and non-rated municipal opportunities where appropriate. The Analyst will develop independent credit opinions, internal ratings, investment recommendations, and relative value assessments that inform security selection, portfolio construction, and risk management.

This role combines in-depth municipal-sector research with close collaboration across the asset management team, including portfolio managers and senior leaders. The successful candidate will translate issuer-level analysis into timely, actionable investment insights and communicate them clearly through written research, investment discussions, and portfolio reviews.

What you will do:
  • Conduct thorough fundamental credit analysis of municipal issuers, obligors and securities across assigned sectors.
  • Evaluate new-issue and secondary-market municipal bonds and develop clear buy, hold, sell, underweight or watchlist recommendations.
  • Establish and maintain independent internal credit ratings, outlooks and investment theses.
  • Analyze audited financial statements, budgets, operating performance, revenue trends, debt profiles, capital plans, liquidity, leverage, debt-service coverage, pension and other long-term liabilities.
  • Assess economic, demographic, political, regulatory and policy developments affecting individual issuers and municipal sectors.
  • Perform downside analysis and scenario testing where appropriate, including sensitivity to revenue stress, rising costs, refinancing pressure, changes in federal or state support and adverse sector developments.

What we need from you:
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in the Municipal Sector and a demonstrated passion for asset management
  • A Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in work experience and financial certifications are preferred
  • A curious nature, independent thinker, competitive and someone that asks why.
  • Passion for markets
  • Team player

SEI's competitive advantage:

To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including comprehensive care for your physical and mental well-being, a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, support for working parents and flexible Paid Time Off (PTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.

Benefits include healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription, wellness, EAP, FSA), life and disability insurance (premiums paid for base coverage), 401(k) match, education assistance, commuter benefits, up to 11 paid holidays/year, 21 days PTO/year pro-rated for new hires which increases over time, paid parental leave, back-up childcare arrangements, paid volunteer days, a discounted stock purchase plan, investment options, access to thriving employee networks and more.
