Multifamily Field Executive

This position is based out of our Charleston, SC regional office.

As Multifamily Field Executive, you'll bring strategic, executive-level leadership to Samet's most complex multifamily construction projects across the Charleston region. You'll oversee Senior Superintendents and project teams, set the standard for field execution, and serve as the primary field operations voice with senior clients and strategic accounts.

What You'll Do
  • Provide strategic leadership and executive oversight for multiple large-scale, complex multifamily construction projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery excellence, safety performance, and client satisfaction.
  • Lead and develop senior field management teams, including Senior Superintendents, Superintendents, and Assistant Superintendents - hiring, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development planning.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in field operations through advanced construction methodologies, technology adoption, and process optimization.
  • Collaborate with preconstruction, project management, and business development teams to develop winning project approaches, constructability reviews, and value engineering solutions for major opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary field operations representative for strategic client relationships, major project stakeholder meetings, and high-profile project delivery initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain field operations standards, best practices, and performance metrics, ensuring consistent application of The Samet Way and corporate standards.
  • Lead complex problem-solving and crisis management across multiple projects, including schedule recovery, quality issues, safety incidents, and stakeholder conflicts.
  • Oversee and coordinate field operations across multiple project sites, ensuring optimal resource allocation, schedule coordination, and cross-project knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and corporate safety standards, maintaining zero-incident performance and promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Lead quality management and quality assurance programs across multiple projects, ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional construction quality.
  • Support business development through client relationship management, project interviews, constructability input, and technical proposal development.
  • Drive professional development and succession planning within field operations, identifying high-potential talent and creating pathways for advancement.
  • Represent Samet Corporation at industry events, professional organizations, and client functions.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field (preferred); an equivalent combination of education and extensive construction experience will be considered.
  • 12-18 years of progressive experience in commercial construction field operations, with at least 5-7 years in senior superintendent or field management leadership roles.
  • Extensive multifamily construction project experience (required).
  • Proven track record managing multiple large-scale, complex construction projects with values exceeding $20M+ simultaneously.
  • Experience across multiple project delivery methods (Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, Construction Manager at Risk, Integrated Project Delivery) and building types.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced construction technologies, including BIM, VDC, and digital project management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry regulations, safety standards (OSHA), quality management systems, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Established network of relationships across clients, architects, engineers, trade contractors, and regulatory officials.
  • Proven ability to lead succession planning and professional development for field operations personnel at all levels.
  • Professional certifications preferred, including PMP, CCM, or additional OSHA 30-Hour credentials.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to represent Samet effectively with senior clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory officials.
  • Strategic thinking and superior problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance multiple project priorities while maintaining operational excellence.

Additional Requirements

Physical Demands: This role requires the physical ability to navigate active construction sites, including climbing stairs, walking on uneven surfaces, and working in various weather conditions. Work Environment: Active construction sites in various stages of completion, with exposure to construction equipment, materials, and typical construction site hazards. Language Ability: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations to executive audiences, clients, and technical stakeholders. Ability to facilitate meetings and negotiations with sophisticated project stakeholders.

Computer Skills: Advanced proficiency in construction-specific software, including project management systems, scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project), BIM/VDC platforms, and document management systems. Expert-level skills in Microsoft Office 365, mobile construction applications, field reporting systems, and virtual meeting platforms.

Math Ability: Advanced analytical capabilities, including complex project scheduling, resource optimization, cost analysis, and productivity calculations. Ability to analyze multi-project performance metrics and develop strategic recommendations for operational improvement.

Reasoning Ability: Superior strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to assess complex construction scenarios, anticipate challenges, and develop innovative solutions. Ability to make sound judgments affecting project success and organizational performance under pressure.

Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver's license required. OSHA 30-Hour certification required. Additional professional certifications in construction management, safety, or quality management preferred. Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screening as required by company policy.
