Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY

The Multifamily Asset Management Analyst supports senior Asset and Revenue Managers in executing business plans across MIG's multifamily portfolio of over 6,200 units in Arizona, California, Colorado and Washington. This role blends financial analysis with operational oversight, working closely with third-party property management teams to drive performance, accountability, and value creation. This key individual will report to the Chief Financial Officer to assist in the monitoring, management and performance improvement of MIG's multifamily properties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Asset Management & Performance Monitoring
  • Monitor asset performance versus budget, forecast, underwriting and overall market conditions
  • Analyze operating statements, rent rolls, and variance reports
  • Identify risks and performance gaps and support corrective action planning
  • Assist in developing portfolio standards and benchmarking
  • Prepare regular reports on leasing, financial, key operating metrics and capital performance

Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Planning
  • Assist with preparation of annual operating budgets and capital plans
  • Support development of annual asset-level business plans outlining operating strategy, capital initiatives, leasing goals, and KPIs
  • Coordinate budget assumptions and inputs with third-party property management teams
  • Assist with coordination and preparation of quarterly five-year property rolling forecasts

Third-Party Property Management Oversight
  • Serve as a liaison between MIG and third-party property managers
  • Review KPIs including occupancy, rent growth, expenses, collections, and leasing velocity
  • Participate in recurring performance review calls

On-Site Asset Reviews & Site Audits
  • Conduct routine on-site property visits to evaluate operations and physical condition
  • Perform structured inspections of units, common areas, and back-of-house operations
  • Utilize MIG's technology suite to document findings, action items, ownership, and timelines
  • Track follow-up items to completion and prepare post-visit summaries

Leasing, Marketing & Systems Oversight
  • Audit property websites and online presence for accuracy, branding consistency, and pricing integrity
  • Review online leasing funnels and lead capture effectiveness
  • Monitor and evaluate leasing prospect management, including lead response times, follow-up activity, data quality, and conversion metrics
  • Partner with property management to improve lead-to-lease conversion
  • Conduct regular review/test of marketing/advertising channels for effectiveness and ROI

Project Management & Strategic Support
  • Track capital expenditures and renovation programs, including measurement of value-add returns
  • Support due diligence for acquisitions, refinancings, and dispositions
  • Track value-add initiatives and progress
  • Assist in discovering, assessing, and implementing new technologies that drive NOI and increased property values


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in real estate asset management, property management oversight, or real estate finance
  • Multifamily experience preferred
  • Strong financial and analytical capabilities
  • Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with Yardi, Knock CRM, Microsoft Power BI and RealPage AIRM preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills
