Context
The Multidisciplinary BIM Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and consolidating discipline-specific BIM models into a federated model for infrastructure, rail, and transportation projects, while ensuring model quality, consistency, and compliance with project requirements, applicable standards, and the BIM Execution Plan (BEP). The role supports multidisciplinary collaboration by leading coordination activities, facilitating communication between stakeholders, identifying and resolving model-related issues, and contributing to the efficient delivery of BIM outputs throughout all project phases.
Missions/Main Duties
- Coordinate the integration of discipline-specific BIM models into a consolidated federated model for infrastructure, rail, and transportation projects.
- Perform model coordination and clash detection, identify conflicts or inconsistencies, and communicate issues clearly to design teams for timely resolution.
- Prepare, maintain, and update BIM coordination and federated models in accordance with project requirements, standards, and BEP.
- Organize and lead BIM coordination meetings and reviews; document technical issues, decisions, and follow-up actions.
- Ensure consistency, completeness, and quality of BIM deliverables throughout project phases.
- Support the implementation and continuous application of the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
- Contribute to the documentation of BIM coordination processes within project collaboration platforms.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve modelling efficiency and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Monitor progress of coordinated models and support resolution of BIM-related risks impacting cost, schedule, or quality.
Profile/Skills
Education: Degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, construction, BIM, or a related field.
Years of experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in multidisciplinary BIM coordination for infrastructure, rail, or transportation projects.
Technical competencies:
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models and federated models.
- Good understanding of BIM standards, LOD, model exchange formats, and BEP requirements.
- Proficiency with BIM coordination tools such as Revit, Civil 3D, ACC, Revizto, or equivalent.
- Experience with clash detection, model validation, and coordination reporting.
- Familiarity with collaboration platforms and common data environments.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in French and in English*
