Job Description:
Summary:
The Multi-Facility Director of Infection Prevention is responsible to lead a focus on infection prevention and zero harm across assigned Ballad facilities, contributing to world class patient care. The Director will work with the AVP of Infection Prevention to set the direction for world class patient safety through infection prevention for all Ballad facilities. This leader will participate as a member of the Infection Prevention senior leadership team, responsible for team development, annual and long term strategic planning for the department, and work with facility leadership for individual facility plans. The Director will partner with CEOs, CMOs, and CNOs to create an environment for evidenced based management of infections and continuous improvement. Additionally, the Director will assist the AVP in the development and management of multiple budgets and effectively coordinate department resources. The Director will design, manage, and improve infection prevention surveillance and data reporting processes to support quick identification of risks, infections, and improvements.
The Director will participate in the design and deployment of a corporate operational plan for Infection Prevention in support of the Annual Plan for Quality and Patient Safety and Ballad's Strategic Plan and in compliance with regulatory and accrediting guidelines. The director will assist the AVP, IP, in aligning IP plans to align with, support, and strengthen Ballad's High Reliability Organization (HRO) journey and endeavors toward zero harm. Additionally, this leader will hire, train, retain, and develop managers and team members dedicated to Infection Prevention. The Director will manage regional and system wide improvement projects (ex. collaborative projects, new process or service design). The Director will collaborate with the AVP of infection prevention to lead identification and implementation of best practices across Ballad. The Director will lead improvement of work processes (procedures) to ensure reduction of infection. The Director will serve as public subject matter expert, participating in media events, workshops, and other public events as a representative of Ballad. The Director will form and maintain healthy work relationships with all facility leaders, team members, medical staff members, and support leadership. Additionally, this leader will identify education and training needs of the Ballad workforce, and designs and delivers training to facility leaders, team members, medical staff members, and support leadership. The Director will maintain up to date procedures, including design, documentation, control, and maintenance.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required. Minimum five years in a clinical setting. Successful management of priorities, multiple projects, and deadlines is required. Computer and Internet skills and experience required-familiarity and comfort with MS Office products is essential for success in this position. Data collection and analysis, process audit/compliance review experience required. Database data entry and/or management experience, and familiarity with statistical concepts, quality improvement and patient safety and application experience preferred. Ability to interact with all members of the facility team and administrative staff in a professional and courteous manner.

Licenses and Certifications:
• Valid and active RN licensure in appropriate state
• Certification in Infection Control strongly encouraged; Required within one year of acquisition of position
