Experience: Minimum of 3 years MR experience
License: MR-ARRT - ARRT Registered Technologist in Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Certifications: Preferred - R-ARRT - ARRT Registered Technologist in Radiography
Preferred - CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist
Must-Have:
- Broad knowledge of MRI physics and procedures
- Understanding of MRI principles that are developmentally appropriate for ages 0 to adulthood
- Operation of required equipment and troubleshooting as necessary
- Basic life support understanding and medical terminology
- Ability to independently scan patients by following established protocols
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to utilize basic office equipment
- Strong customer service skills
- Confidentiality in all interactions
Description:
Checks the room daily for adequate stock necessary to facilitate continuous exam flow.
Maintains appropriate inventory as indicated by posted par levels and updates supply lists when items are needed.
Confirms patient identity with approved identifiers.
Demonstrates age-appropriate care with all patients, preparing them appropriately for procedures.
Verifies patient pregnancy and informed consent statuses.
Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medication contraindications and patient history.
Determines type and dose of contrast agent to be administered based on patient's age, weight, and medical/physical status.
Anticipates and responds to patients' needs throughout the entire encounter.
Ensures all non-MRI personnel are screened prior to entry into restricted zones.
