Description Job overview and responsibilitiesThe position of Manager - Operations Control Training will take charge of training development and compliance in Station Operations Center. This role is crucial in ensuring that we adhere to internal guidelines by providing instructor-led training and identifying training needs to ensure the attainment of local, regional, and corporate goals. The Manager for Operations Control Training will assist in designing and implementing a curriculum for SOC tools, processes, and other essential areas to ensure standardization within the SOC's scope. In addition, as the manager, this role will initiate proactive changes in the training of Hub Station Operations employees.
- Provides training delivery in technical and strategic skills for ongoing organizational priorities through classroom, practical, and on-the-job instruction.
- Manages sessions from start to finish, including handling session requests, roster and enrollment management, and session closeout.
- Partners with HUB SOC Senior Managers and Training Development to create a strategic vision for United's future in these roles, supporting their capacity to manage a growing flight schedule.
- Assist in identifying training requirements and related programs to assure achievement of local, regional, and corporate objectives.
- Provide content, technical, and procedural support on training subjects and issues.
- Manage employee training, including scheduling, enrollment, and notification for instructor-led and online courses.
- Ensure completion of required training by monitoring progress and tracking completion to maintain station compliance.
- Provide status updates to leadership regarding training completion.
- Conduct ad-hoc training as requested by local leadership.
- Conduct training proficiency line checks and recurrent training as needed.
- Supports remediation training as needed.
- Remain proficient as a Manager - Operations Control by working a minimum of 3 fulltime shifts per month in the operation.
- Roles include Zone Manager, Gate Manager, Tarmac, etc.
QualificationsWhat's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience.
- SOC experience required.
- 2+ years of experience in a strategic operational role required (Airline/Airport related preferred)
- Proven track record for decisive action backed by strategic planning, continuous improvement, analytical thinking, goal-directed leadership and service-oriented performance.
- Passionate about helping others learn and grow.
- Strong interest and desire to develop training skills and knowledge.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with diverse learners.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Openness to feedback and willingness to continuously improve training practices.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
- Responsible for a 24-hour, 7 days a week, 365 days per year operations.
