Primary Location: Fort Bragg, North CarolinaClearance: Active Secret clearanceAbility to work remotely: NoObsidian Solutions Group is seeking a Modeling and Simulations Specialist to support the design, development, and integration of virtual and constructive simulation products for Mission Command training environments. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with VBS4 scenario development, terrain creation tools, object-oriented programming, video editing, and Army LVCG systems. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, military operational understanding, and collaborative teamwork.
Requirements
Responsibilities- Develop and design simulation scenarios using Virtual Battle Space (VBS) 4 to support Mission Command Exercises.
- Build three-dimensional terrain databases and entity objects using various modeling and simulation software.
- Create, edit, and author constructive and virtual simulations aligned with mission-specific objectives and operational concepts.
- Conduct video editing and multimedia production to support simulation content and exercise injects.
- Integrate simulation products into Army Mission Command and Live, Virtual, Constructive, and Gaming (LVCG) environments.
- Apply object-oriented programming skills (Java, C++, .NET) to enhance simulation behaviors, tools, or scenario functions.
- Use knowledge of military operational concepts to ensure realism, doctrinal accuracy, and relevance in scenario development.
- Collaborate with other Modeling and Simulation team members, accepting guidance and offering informed recommendations based on analysis.
- Work with self-initiative after receiving initial task guidance and follow project schedules to meet established deadlines.
- Maintain detailed documentation, configuration records, and technical notes for all simulation products.
- Provide technical support during training events, troubleshooting simulation tools, terrain loads, and scenario execution issues.
- Ensure simulation content complies with DoD cybersecurity requirements, system standards, and classification guidelines.
Requirements:- Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance required
- Associate degree OR Four years of related military experience may substitute for degree
Special Skills/Qualifications Required:- Minimum two years of experience developing scenarios in Virtual Battle Space (VBS) 4
- Familiarity with building 3D terrain databases and entity objects using multiple software tools
Minimal Background/Experience Required:- Experience with constructive and virtual computer simulations
- Experience with video editing and modeling/simulation scenario authoring
- Knowledge of Army Mission Command and/or LVCG Systems
- Knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language (Java, C++, or .NET)
- Understanding of military operational concepts
