Leidos’ Defense Systems, Weapons Sensors, Advanced Sensors and Protective Technologies Portfolio is seeking a talented Modeling and Simulation Engineer to function full-time within the Advanced Sensors and Protective Technologies Portfolio. You will join a diverse team of software developers, engineers, and scientists to help create unique solutions for complex problems. Our team solves important problems that make a difference and support our customers in the current and future defense of our nation; primarily in the areas of modeling & simulation, sensor integration & characterization, data analysis, algorithm development, and testing for electro-optical infrared (EO/IR) systems. Candidate will be expected to execute within the Agile/Scrum framework to develop analysis tools and data products, productively contribute to a team environment, and communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and customers. Primary Responsibilities. 013Work closely with a team of engineers and scientists to utilize a variety of data to solve problems in the realm of EO/IR sensor systems 013Work and communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team while having familiarity with software concepts and tools often used for modeling and simulation (e.g. scene generation, signal processing techniques, numerical methods, meshing, thermal solvers, etc.) Basic Qualifications. 013Candidate must have a bachelor019s degree from an accredited university in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, optical engineering, engineering physics, software engineering, computer science, or an equivalent engineering or science degree with relevant experience plus 4-8 years of experience in a related fielda0ora0a master019s degree from an accredited university in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, optical engineering, engineering physics, software engineering, computer science, or an equivalent engineering or science degree with relevant experience plus 2-6 years of experience in a related field. 013Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area. 013Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Secret Clearance. 013Candidate should possess experience with the following 013Setting up and running medium- to high-fidelity EO/IR signature generation M&S frameworks 013Extending EO/IR signature generation M&S frameworks through development 013Hardbody modeling and signature generation and analysis 013EO/IR sensor system modeling (noise, blur, motion/jitter, etc.) 013Evaluating simulation outputs and comparing against real data Preferred Qualifications. 013Active SECRET clearance or above 013Familiarity or interest in EO/IR phenomenology and experience with image processing 013Experience and demonstrated skill in any of the following 013Windows and Linux development 013Version control with Git 013Physics and Control System (Proportional, Integral, and Differential) Knowledge 013Specific Tooling: FLITES, sgPrime, C++ If youre looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
