About the RoleAs a
CBRE Mobile HVAC Engineer, you will provide preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and operational support for a major telecommunications client across a portfolio of critical facilities, including data centers and office buildings. This role is responsible for maintaining HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, life safety, and building systems to ensure maximum uptime and reliability for mission-critical environments.
This job is part of the
Engineering and Technical Services function, which is responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and building systems. The Mobile HVAC Engineer serves as a key technical resource supporting critical infrastructure while delivering exceptional service to our client.
This is a
mobile position that includes a company-provided service van, tools, fuel card, iPhone, iPad, and other resources necessary for success. The engineer will travel throughout an assigned route supporting critical telecommunications facilities, including data centers and administrative office locations.
What You'll Do- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural, life safety, and control systems.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial HVAC equipment including RTUs, split systems, package units, exhaust systems, and related mechanical equipment.
- Support critical facility operations within telecommunications sites and data centers while maintaining system reliability and uptime.
- Review assigned work orders, estimate labor and material requirements, and maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
- Conduct inspections of building systems including HVAC, fire alarm, life safety, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with client standards.
- Respond to service requests and emergency maintenance situations while providing timely communication and resolution.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and compliance requirements.
- Operate a company-issued vehicle safely and professionally while traveling between assigned facilities.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, client requirements, company policies, and regulatory standards.
- Share technical expertise with team members and support operational excellence through collaboration and problem-solving.
What You'll Need- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of related experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Universal EPA (CFC) Certification required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Experience maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC equipment.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, building systems, and facility operations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment specifications, and maintenance documentation.
- Prior experience supporting data centers, mission-critical environments, telecommunications facilities, or commercial office buildings is preferred.
- Previous shift lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing a mobile route and multiple locations.
Physical Requirements- Ability to frequently stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in mechanical spaces.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.

Disclaimer Information- The annual salary range for this position is anticipated to be $75,000 - $90,000. Compensation will be based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity considerations. Candidates with compensation expectations outside of the established range may require additional review and approval.

Based on the qualifications, skills, experience, and overall alignment to the role, the anticipated compensation range for the
Mobile HVAC Engineer position is currently
$75,000 - $90,000 annually.
Please note that compensation decisions are made in accordance with CBRE's Equal Pay practices and are determined by several factors, including relevant experience, technical certifications, job-related skills, geographic location, internal equity, and market considerations. While candidates may have salary expectations outside of this range, offers must remain competitive and aligned with both market data and internal compensation guidelines.
