YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:Reporting to the Maintenance Planning & Reliability General Supervisor, you will play a key role in driving asset reliability, availability, and performance across the mobile equipment fleet. You will provide technical and reliability expertise for both Underground Heavy Mobile Equipment-including drills, LHDs, trucks, bolters, and support equipment-and Surface Mobile Equipment, including loaders, trucks, dozers, excavators, and support fleet. You will focus on improving the safe, reliable, and cost-effective performance of mobile assets through technical and engineering support, defect elimination, failure analysis, maintenance strategy development and optimization, condition monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with industry best practices. You will work closely with Maintenance Planning, Execution, Operations, OEMs, and other key stakeholders while consistently promoting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental stewardship. This role requires strong engineering judgment, structured problem-solving, and effective cross-functional collaboration to deliver sustainable reliability improvements and support world-class mining operations.
- Serve as a visible safety leader by promoting a zero-harm culture and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and engineering standards;
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve maintenance strategies, including Preventive Maintenance (PM), Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM), and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs;
- Facilitate and lead Asset Criticality Assessments (ACA), Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies, Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA), risk assessments, and Root Cause Analyses (RCA);
- Drive reliability improvement initiatives such as Asset Integrity programs, Defect Elimination, Bad Actor Management, PM Optimization, and Lubrication Excellence programs;
- Oversee condition monitoring activities, including oil analysis, vibration analysis, thermography, electrical testing, and other asset health monitoring technologies, ensuring timely interpretation and action of findings;
- Analyze equipment performance, failure trends, downtime data, and reliability metrics to identify improvement opportunities and eliminate chronic equipment issues;
- Develop, track, and report key reliability performance indicators, including Availability, Utilization, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR);
- Partner with Maintenance Operations, Planning, and Engineering teams to optimize maintenance task lists, PM programs, work management processes, and asset performance;
- Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support to resolve complex equipment reliability and maintenance challenges;
- Conduct maintenance QA/QC assessments and recommend corrective actions to improve maintenance quality, execution effectiveness, and procedural compliance;
- Support component replacement strategies, budgeting processes, lifecycle cost analyses, capital planning, and long-term asset management initiatives;
- Collaborate with OEMs, site teams, and industry peers to benchmark equipment performance and identify best practices for reliability and maintenance excellence;
- Develop maintenance strategies, asset care plans, and operational readiness programs to ensure the successful transition of new assets from commissioning to operations;
- Prepare technical reports, reliability studies, performance dashboards, and recommendations to support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, regulatory, and engineering standards.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering;
- Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) is preferred but not required;
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on technical, maintenance engineering, or reliability experience in heavy mobile equipment environments, with experience across underground and/or surface mining fleets;
- Experience with the following or similar equipment is considered a strong asset: ITH/Longhole Drills: Sandvik DU/DL311 or similar, Development Jumbos: Epiroc T1D/S2, single- and double-boom
units, Bolters: Sandvik DD321, MacLean bolters, or similar, LHDs: CAT R1700K, R1600, R1300, including diesel and battery-electric equipment, Underground Trucks: CAT AD30/AD45, Sandvik Z40/Z50, including diesel and battery-electric equipment, Surface Equipment: loaders, haul trucks, dozers, excavators, and associated support fleet; - Strong technical knowledge of heady duty mobile equipment;
- Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), including data analysis, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives;
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance data analysis, performance monitoring, reliability reporting, and asset performance improvement;
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills;
- Experience developing and implementing equipment reliability, asset management, and continuous improvement programs is considered an asset;
- Working knowledge of project management principles and methodologies;
- Strong business acumen, with intermediate to advanced proficiency in PI Vision/PI Historian, OEM Platforms and SAP or JD Edwards (JDE) CMMS platforms;
- Expertise in Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and reliability engineering best practices;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
- Advanced knowledge of statistical and probabilistic analysis techniques, as well as engineering economics tools, including Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Equivalent Annual Cost (EAC).
