Location: Norfolk, VA (Naval Station)

SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a Mission Systems Operator to support the installation, configuration, testing, and operation of software systems used to command and control Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs). This position supports mission planning, software integration, system testing, and operational execution in a dynamic engineering environment.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Perform software provisioning and configuration.
  • Install, configure, and test software applications and system updates.
  • Operate Command and Control (C2) software for Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs).
  • Troubleshoot software, hardware, and system integration issues.
  • Execute operational and functional testing in accordance with established procedures.
  • Follow technical procedures and accurately document test activities, system performance, and results.
  • Support software integration, verification, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technical personnel to identify, diagnose, and resolve system issues.
  • Maintain configuration control and ensure operational readiness of mission systems.


Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Three (3)+ years of experience supporting, operating, or maintaining software-driven systems, tactical systems, or unmanned/autonomous platforms.
  • Experience installing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting software applications.
  • Familiarity with Command and Control (C2) systems or mission planning software preferred.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and follow detailed operating procedures.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced technical environment.

Position Salary Range: $72,000 - $112,000. The listed salary range represents the typical range for this position. WR bases the offered salary on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, knowledge, and skills, scope and responsibilities of the position, and market and business considerations.
