- Graduate of the U.S. Army Special Forces Officer Qualifying Course (18A), or Warrant Officer 180A and graduate of a U.S. military officer's Senior Service College, or Graduate of Warrant Officer Senior Service Education Course
- Secret clearance required
Experience Required - Assignment to Special Operations Forces (e.g., Special Forces, Ranger Regiment, Civil Affairs, Special Mission units).
- Experience as a Commander at the battalion level or Chief Warrant Officer at Group or higher.
- Served as primary staff at the Special Operations Joint Task Force (SOJTF) level or higher.
- Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of exercise design and experience managing the elements and resources of exercise development and execution.
Job ObjectiveThe Special Operations Mission Training Center (SOMTC) conducts individual and collective training for the USASOC operating and generating force, which shall include Joint Special Operations Forces, to prepare Special Operations Forces (SOF) to successfully operate across the full spectrum of operations.
Responsibilities - Direct and manage the overall work efforts of the Mission Command Exercise Branch.
- Schedule and coordinate Mission Readiness Exercises (MRXs) for deploying 05 and 06 level Headquarters staff.
- Recognize, identify, isolate, and resolve any operational problems related to the Mission Command Exercise Branch.
- Coordinate for and supervise all internal SOMTC support for MRXs, including technical support, digital training, and constructive simulations.
- Coordinate directly with military Evaluation Teams designated to observe and report findings before, during, and after an exercise.
