Full Job Description
Position Summary: The Mission Catalyst is responsible for working with volunteer leaders, Mission Advancement Team members, and other key stakeholders to meet the philanthropy objectives for CLI. This includes developing strong relationships with existing and potential donor candidates throughout the country, helping to project and determine gift activity goals and engaging key volunteers in the cultivation and solicitation of donor prospects. Creating new, upgrading, and managing current donor relationships is a crucial piece of the Mission Catalyst's role. The Mission Catalyst will conduct their work with faith, creativity, independence, and gratitude to all our friends.

Compensation Range: $95,000-$110,000 annually, based on experience, plus a full benefits package.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years relevant experience required
  • Minimum of seven years of professional development experience in philanthropy
  • Experience in closing major gifts of $25,000+
  • Proficient in Raiser's Edge (or comparable CRM), with demonstrated skill in prospect research, wealth screening, and writing proposals and gift agreements

  • Ability to manage a portfolio of 100-125 donors through the moves management process from identification to stewardship
  • Meets a first-year fundraising goal of $500,000+, with growth targets in subsequent years
  • Willingness to travel (4-6 times/month - 50% or more)
  • Experience in working with the entire spectrum of donors from loyal to new prospects
  • Ability to use referrals, networking, and research to grow a portfolio
  • Expresses ideas and thoughts in a clear and effective manner with internal and external stakeholders; willing to communicate new ideas

Identify new donor prospects in the database and involve them in a meaningful way to support a thriving faith community.

Donor Communication

Prepare, deliver and follow-up on proposals and gift opportunities for major donor prospects in a timely manner after accurately assessing their level of interest and capacity in order to provide meaningful opportunities for involvement and investment.

Strategy

Plan, implement and track short-term and long-term strategies with the Mission Advancement Team in order to measure success and create accurate revenue, cash, and involvement metrics for the organization.
