Job Description

Position Overview: The Mission System Administrator, designated as Mission Systems/Information Technology Specialist (MS/ITS), serves as a technical professional responsible for analyzing complex system architectures and functional requirements within the Minotaur Mission Systems (MMS) and other mission system environments.

This role applies software engineering methodologies and information technology best practices to plan, develop, enhance, maintain, and validate core software systems and sensor software baselines. The MS/ITS works collaboratively with the Chief Integration Officer (CIO), Team Leads, and cross-functional team members to execute development initiatives and implement MMS development and deployment strategies.

The MS/ITS operates under the mentorship of mid-level and senior software developers and engineers, while providing critical technical support to senior leadership in mission execution activities.

The MS/ITS shall be qualified to execute the below functions with minimal guidance.
MS/ITS1: Analyze software & hardware architectures, designs and functional requirements for aircraft, marine & surface mission systems.
MS/ITS2: Develop system requirements.
MS/ITS3: Test and configure mission system electrical designs and software applications using tools such as Microsoft Visio, .dwg applications, JAVA, Javascript, Python, SQL, OWL, CSS, C++, C#, Bootstrap, XML, HTML & WMS/ITSL.
MS/ITS4: Develop scripts for mission system applications.
MS/ITS5: Update software applications, apply software patches and cyber related artifacts.
MS/ITS6: Support installation, configuration and test of mission systems and software on a variety of mission system hardware configurations in a lab environment or on asset.
MS/ITS7: Install, run and apply various software applications for the mission system.
MS/ITS8: Develop and conduct unit, auto-test, system functional tests, integration tests and lab/asset testing.
MS/ITS9: Develop technical documentation and reports (MS word, PPT, excel) related to MMS.
MS/ITS10: Work with team members to ensure system usability, reliability, maintainability and resolve customer trouble reports.
MS/ITS11: Build system, data, map and satellite drives from data base.
MS/ITS12: Conduct System Administration functions such as password set up, scans, create log in access, troubleshoot networks and manage accounts.
MS/ITS13: Execute frequent travel, work day, evening, and midnight shifts, and respond to urgent tasking at last minute, to meet Government system troubleshooting requirements.
MS/ITS14: Obtain and Maintain at least a Secret clearance.
MS/ITS15: Be able to accept guidance from Senior Developers, Engineers and Mentors.
MS/ITS16: Conduct reviews and accept feedback from team members, leadership & Government users.
MS/ITS17: Build visions, business relationships & goals for future endeavors.

Job Requirements

Minimum requirement of AS in Computer Engineering/Science, Information Technology or other suitable equivalent in education, or have applicable skills with at least 8 years' experience in a technical field related aviation, surface, or ground based systems.
Proven performance of work, development, internship with communication and teaming skills.
